Banyo home damaged by 'suspicious' fire

POLICE say they are investigating a suspicious house fire in Banyo on Monday morning which significantly damaged a  home.

Around 2.10am police and emergency services were called to a Railway Parade residence following reports that it was engulfed by fire.

Fire services extinguished the fire however the single storey dwelling was significantly damaged.

The home was vacant at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and a crime scene has been established with investigations into the cause of the fire continuing.
