AgForce hosts farmers forum

ON Wednesday, June 20, the 'My Produce, Your Plate, Our Future' Forum will be held at the AgForce Research Station, Brian Pastures.

Hosted by AgForce and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, all members of the community are welcome to come along.

"It will open up that two-way communication between researchers and producers,” AgForce SEQ regional president Neville Galloway said.

"We can gather ideas on where more research needs to be done and producers will be able to learn findings from research that is already under way.”

Multiple topics will be covered, for locals to learn practical skills to apply in their own businesses, including managing pasture dieback, calf-loss, genomics and more.

The forum is followed will be with a barbecue hosted by the AgForce Cattle Board.

Mr Galloway said industry leaders were already attending meetings at the facility on the Thursday and Friday so they saw a great opportunity to connect with producers in their swap and insight.

"It's been a long time since the department has shown off the facility so we're looking forward to the forum,” he said.

The event will run from 8:30am and conclude at 5pm with a barbecue.
