Ambulance involved in crash with patient on board

AN AMBULANCE that was transporting a patient under lights and sirens has been involved in a crash this afternoon.

Police say the two-vehicle accident was reported on Pine Mountain Rd at Brassall about 2.30pm.

The ambulance collided with a civilian vehicle, resulting in minor injuries to one ambulance officer and the driver of the other vehicle.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said both paramedics were taken to Ipswich Hospital for observation, while the driver of the other vehicle was checked for wrist pain.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
