Apply for Long Tan Bursary
APPLICATIONS are open for the 2020 education year intake of the Long Tan Bursary scheme, which for the first time has been extended to grandchildren of Vietnam War veterans.
The scheme provides funding to help eligible children and grandchildren of Australian Vietnam veterans meet the cost of post-secondary education and to help them obtain formal qualifications and skills needed to pursue their chosen career.
Thirty-seven bursaries, each worth up to $12,000 over three years of continuous full-time study, are awarded annually to successful applicants across Australia.
"We are committed to putting veterans and their families first and this bursary scheme is designed to assist students with continuing their education and obtain formal qualifications to pursue their chosen career,” Flynn MP Ken O'Dowd said.
"The education and training of the next generation of students is just one of the ways the Government is honouring the service and sacrifice of the men and women who served our country in Vietnam.”
Applications close on October 31.
