Birtinya business evacuated after bomb threat

A BIRTINYA business was evacuated and staff forced to stand outside for more than an hour, after a bomb threat this morning.

The Innovation Parkway complex Kawana House was evacuated just after 11.30am.

A Police Media spokesman said a person made a bomb threat over the phone which prompted the evacuation.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were also called to attend.

The roundabout near Metier Linkway was blocked to all traffic for a short time.

An inspection of the area turned out no apparent risk and the workers were free to return back inside.

A Police Media spokesman said officers would trace and investigate the phone call.
