Boogal Cattle Co hooks up top beef

BOOGAL Cattle Co took home top prize in the Monto Show carcass judging, announced at a dinner at the Mungungo Pub last Thursday, May 3.

Tex, Bronwyn and Lance Burnham's grass-fed grey brahman steer carcass scored highest overall and awarded champion carcass for 2018.

Boogal Cattle Co is on now a roll after winning champion pen of bullocks at the show and placing third in one of the steer classes at Beef Week in Rockhampton on Monday.

Tex Burnham said it was nice to receive validation that his prime cattle fit the specifications of the meatworks.

"We're thrilled and extremely proud of our cattle,” Tex said.

"That's what we breed them for so it's very rewarding, that's for sure.

"The carcass is something we always look forward to.

"Sometimes it's more pleasing to win on the hook than the hoof.”
