Bowen to lobby govt

What are you most proud of achieving over the past year?

I'm proud of achieving for division five the all-bitumen road from Gayndah to Mundubbera via the river, the bitumen of the Mt Steadman road and now we have bitumen from south to Mingo Crossing which is great for the caravans. Travelling to Mingo and starting the Ban Ban Springs Advisory Group.

How do you feel the past 12 months have gone?

Quick and busy.

What were your biggest challenges faced during your first year in council? Both professionally and personally?

All challenges are big, I like being in council and just work hard for the community.

What are your priorities for the next three years?

To find time to get out in the community and talk to the ratepayers. To lobby the State Government to bitumen seal Gayndah-Mt Perry and Monto-Mt Perry roads.

What have been the biggest surprises of the past 12 months?

My biggest surprise was to receive over $2million from the State Government and over two from the Federal Government for a new bridge over Deep Creek on the Gayndah -Mundubbera road. How great it is to see State, Federal and Local Government all working together.

Receiving money from State Government for Queensland projects, with this money we will see and upgrade Mt Perry footpath.
