Boyce is ready to take on Callide

LOCAL grazier and businessman, Colin Boyce has been pre-selected by the Liberal National Party to contest the next state election for Callide after long-serving MP Jeff Seeney, announced his retirement.

"I've got real life, hands-on work and business experience to show that I don't just make decisions, I can make good decisions,” Mr Boyce said.

"I've worked hard and made the most of the opportunities that I have had and want to make sure that our region has a strong and effective voice at the table when decisions are being made”.

Mr Boyce wants to change the nanny state approach by the local government force in Queensland to let the people have their say.

"People need to be able to assess risks and make decisions for themselves without the Government getting in the way all the time,” Mr Boyce said.

"What works in Brisbane and is needed there doesn't always apply to regions like ours. We need a flexible common sense approach.”

The LNP government have stood up for farmers rights in managing their land in an environmentally sustainable way. Mr Boyce is a cattle producer and farmer and his wife Terri knows first hand the importance of protecting their family's assets and income. Mr Boyce has three children who help out on the family's property.

The next state election is tipped to be held by May 2018 but there are chances it could be held later this year.
