Boynewood invests in new equipment
BOYNEWOOD State School students have many reasons to smile after the school purchased new equipment that arrived last week.
It's been a huge hit amongst the students who spend their lunch times on the equipment with the big draw card being the slide.
Principal Hayley Kardash said the school purchased more than $20,000 worth of equipment and agreed it was a good decision.
"It's been huge, the kids want nothing except for being outside here so it's been a big hit,” she said.
"The kids helped put it all together, it came in all of these parts and one afternoon the big kids and I pulled it apart and put it together.
Ms Kardash said the kids taught her things she didn't even know.
"They taught me, I didn't even know what a washer was so putting it together, they ended up teaching me,” she said.
"It took us around two hours to put together and every single day we're out here.
Ms Kardash said the school was upgrading its furniture to improve learning facilities.
"We spent around $20,000 altogether upgrading stuff in our school, better learning areas and the prep to two room will get a make over because it's pretty boring at the moment,” she said.
