BREAKING: Person airlifted to hospital after hiking accident

A PERSON has been flown to hospital following a hiking accident at Mt Walsh National Park this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at 8.22am after a person reportedly slipped and hit their head, suffering minor injuries.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said due to the difficult location, the patient was winched to safety.

The person was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
