Farm contractor killed in horror workplace accident

UPDATE 12PM: ROCKHAMPTON Police have confirmed a 50-year-old man died after the dozer he was operating rolled at an Oakleigh Rd property yesterday evening. 

The man killed was working as a farm contractor on the property. 

A spokesman from the Rockhampton Forensic Crash Unit said the unit was working with Workplace Health and Safety officers in investigating the incident and investigations are at this stage ongoing. 

UPDATE 6.30AM: A QUEENSLAND Police spokesman has confirmed one man is dead after a horror accident on a property north of Rockhampton on Tuesday night.

The spokesman said a man was operating a dozer on a private property on Oakleigh Rd, Ogmore, near Marborough, when the dozer rolled. 

As a result, the man was ejected from the vehicle and killed. 

Police were called to the scene at about 7pm and are preparing a report for the coroner. 

INITIAL: THERE were unconfirmed reports that a person had been killed when the dozer they were operating rolled on a private property at Ogmore and they were ejected from the machine.

The Morning Bulletin understands that the incident occurred sometime between 4pm and 5pm, but this is also yet to be confirmed.

The Queensland Ambulance Service received an emergency call at 6.50pm and were first on scene at the private property at Ogmore, north of Marlborough.

Queensland Police and the SES arrived a short time later.
