Bureau forecasts more rain for Wide Bay Burnett

MORE rain is expected for the Wide Bay Burnett on Wednesday afternoon due to a fast moving trough.

It comes after a super cell lashed parts of the Wide Bay Burnett on Tuesday night causing trees and powerlines to fall. In some parts of the region, power is still being restored by Ergon crews.

Bureau of Metereology metereologist Annabelle Ford said around 20mm's of rain is expected from this cell.

"We're seeing quite intense rain on the radar at the moment, it doesn't look like it will be a big storm though as it's fast moving,” Ms Ford said.

"The rain will be heading north so it won't make it to the coast.”

The Bureau of Metereology will issue another warning at 7:55pm tonight. From Thursday onwards it is expected to be clear til the weekend.
