Shadbolt has the X Factor

CAITLYN Shadbolt's new self-titled EP, spearheaded by banging lead song Shoot out the Lights, officially released yesterday.

The Gympie singer, thriving since making the final five on last year's X Factor, spent the week counting down to the big day.

There were numerous Facebook posts teasing fans and a video with fellow X Factor contestant, Dean Ray.

Dean was visiting Gympie and teamed up with Caitlyn for a fun clip that showed the Gympie singer emerging from hiding, brandishing a physical copy of her EP.

Caitlyn's new EP is available digitally and in physical formats.

The EP may be purchased from iTunes or if fans prefer a more hands-on experience, hard copies are on sale at JB Hi-Fi and Sanity.

Gympie's Sanity store is located in the Central Shopping Centre.

Eager fans to have already got their hands on the new EP have taken to Caitlyn's Facebook page to sing their approval.

Chris Farrow was glowing in his praise.

"Just listened to your EP," he said. "Amazing. My favourite song is Angel Time.

"Keep up your dream."

De-anne Barber was also enthusiastic about the new material.

"Was just watching Country Music Channel and heard one of your songs," she said.

"Loved the film clip."

Caitlyn's EP is her first with new record label ABC and Universal Music.
