Captains want inclusivity at Abercorn

CONTINUING our rolling coverage of North Burnett school captains in 2019, we talk to Abercorn State School's leaders about their hopes for the year ahead.

What changes would you like to help introduce to your school this year?

Addison Smith (Year 5 vice-captain): I would like us to be kinder to each other.

Archie Pointon: I want there to be no homework.

Dion Drinkwater (Year 5 vice-captain): I want there to be no English lessons.

Chloe Hutson (captain): I would like us to get new sports equipment.

What do you want to be when you are older?

Addison: I am not sure yet.

Archie: I want to be a football player and a builder.

Dion: I want to be an engineer.

Chloe: I want to be a grazier.

Tell us about your favourite school event of the year.

Addison: The school disco.

Archie: The Goodwill Games.

Dion: The school disco.

What sort of example do you want to set for younger students?

Addison: To include people in activities.

Archie: To include people.

Dion: To include people in games.

Chloe: To include people and be kind to each other.
