Charge after stolen clothing allegedly brought into state

A WOMAN who allegedly stole items of clothing from a store in Tenterfield has been charged with bringing tainted property into Queensland.

The incident allegedly happened in Tenterfield on January 31.

This morning Wallangarra police executed a search warrant at a Wallangarra property with the assistance of police from Tenterfield in New South Wales.

Sergeant Alan Baker, of Wallangarra police, said police in New South Wales would deal with the alleged stealing by the 37-year-old woman.

"I have charged the woman under Queensland legislation as she lives in Queensland and brought tainted property into the state," Sgt Baker said.

"We recovered some socks and underwear."

The woman will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on March 21.
