Chopper crew rescue mountain biker near Lake Manchester

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has treated a 60-year-old male who sustained suspected fractures after falling from his mountain bike near Lake Manchester today.

Due to the rough terrain the rescue team had to winch down the doctor and flight paramedic to the injured patient.

The medical team treated the patient at the scene and then proceeded to stretcher carry the patient to the rescue helicopter.

Despite the rough the skilled pilots of the helicopter managed to land in a tight clearing to load the patient.

The patient was then transferred to the Princess Alexandra hospital in a stable condition.

The rescue crew who attended the scene would like to thank the Pine Mountain Rural fire fighting Brigade for their assistance.
