Christmas tree lighting pulls huge crowd
ONE of the organisers of the Community Christmas Tree lighting event in Gayndah said she was blown away by Friday night's attendance.
Gayndah Rotary Club secretary Dael Giddins said she believed there were twice as many people at the event on the court house lawn this year as there were in 2018.

"Usually we might get 150 there, but this year I think there were 250-300," Mrs Giddins said.
She said about 120 children from 60 families lined up to have their photo taken with Santa.
The club was also successful in its fundraising efforts via selling tickets to the ham wheel.
"We had no trouble selling them," Mrs Giddins said.
For the first time, this year's tree has coloured lights as opposed to the standard white lights which previously adorned the tree.
The lights are set using a timer to light up when it gets dark each evening.
This is the fourth year the Community Christmas Tree has been erected.
It is a joint initiative between Rotary and the Gayndah Development Association.
