Clive Palmer work contract trial adjourned due to sickness

A CIVIL trial between Clive Palmer and former Coolum Resort manager Bill Schoch has been adjourned until next week after a court heard Mr Palmer has been struck down with laryngitis.

Mr Schoch is suing Mr Palmer for $4.6 million over a "sham" work contract.

Mr Palmer was due to give evidence this morning but his barrister Simon Couper told the court Mr Palmer was too sick.

"Unfortunately Mr Palmer's condition seems to have gotten worse rather than better," he said.

Mr Couper tendered a doctor's certificate to the court and said a doctor had examined him last night. He said Mr Palmer had laryngitis and had lost his voice and would therefore not be able to give evidence.

He asked for an adjournment until Monday and Mr Schoch's barrister did not oppose this.

Mr Schoch claims Mr Palmer offered him a $5 million work contract over five years but this was reduced to $150,000.

The trial will continue on Monday.
