COMEDIAN, radio and television presenter and Theatresports performer, Ed Kavalee is a talented guy with a number of strings to his bow.
What was your first car?
It was a 1992 Mazda 323 sedan. Manual. White. I wanted the 323 Astina but because the girl I was trying to impress had one and I thought if I had the same car as her she would think I was cool. I didn't and I wasn't.
What are you driving now, and what do you love and hate about it?
I am in a Ford Focus. Hatchback. I'm 6 foot 5 (193cm). I like small cars. I seriously love all of it. It's the first new car I've ever had. When I found out it had Bluetooth for my phone I thought it was the most hi-tech car in the world.
What car/s did your family have while you were growing up?
We had a dark green Volvo 240. It's a Volvo 240 so I assume it's still going somewhere. It was like riding around in a bank vault with seats. So solid. It only had an AM radio or maybe my mum just didn't want to switch over to the FM dial and hear me sing along to Jive Bunny.
What is your greatest frustration on the road and why?
I hate that I can't eat and drive. I don't know if it's illegal but I just always end up with my meal on the floor.
Do you have any preferred driving music?
Late night AM sports radio call-in shows is my choice. Hearing guys called "Frog" complain about how their team sucks and how they are "this close" to ripping up their membership.
If you were to pick anyone in the world to go on a road trip, who would it be and why?
It would have to be Alan Partridge. Loves a chat, a car and a Toblerone.
What is your dream car and why?
The bus from the movie Speed. It can fly. If that's not available then I'll have one of those Tesla racers. That's the right thing to say, yeah? Environmental and that.
