Community spirit on show at weekend
OVER the weekend I had the privilege of working in Gayndah where I was able to attend all the events that were held for Armistice Day in town.
All of the events that I attended were well supported by the local community and it was great to see how the community came together for such a special event.
However, these events do not happen without the volunteers behind the scenes making sure that everything goes ahead smoothly.
I was lucky enough this weekend to be able to help out with the events.
While living in Grafton before I moved to Gayndah I was constantly involved in a number of community and sporting groups.
I had been really missing this connection to community once I moved to Gayndah.
So this weekend was the perfect opportunity to become involved in the community once more.
During the weekend I was able to sell raffle tickets on the door at the RSL dinner as well as help set it up for the occasion.
I am thankful for the members of the RSL who let me help out.
Being part of the community has always been really important to me and during this weekend I met so many people in Gayndah.
I am thankful for everyone that made me feel welcome this weekend and since moving to town.
It has truly made the move easier.
