UPDATE: QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services staff indicated the Schellbachs Rd, Kingaroy, fire was under control.    At about 9am the fire had a front of around 100m in width and a total of about two acres of the scrub land was burnt.    Five crews were called to the scene and they are still at the site to black out the remaining hot spots.

EARLIER: THREE fire crews have been called to a vegetation fire east of Kingaroy on Schellbachs Rd near the intersection with Curtis Rd.

Emergency services were called at about 8.20am and there is one crew currently on scene with another two inbound.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said residents and motorists should be prepared for very smoking conditions.
