CRIME WRAP: Drink driving charges for woman in parked car
Woman allegedly over the limit in parked car
A woman has learnt the hard way that it’s illegal to sit behind the wheel of a parked car in Queensland, while over the alcohol limit.
Police sergeant Shane Ferry said a Mitsubishi was found in a Roma carpark with a woman in the drivers seat at 1.30am on January 21.
The 25-year-old was allegedly breath tested at 0.076 and was charged with drink driving.
Seargent Ferry said while she wasn’t observed to be actually driving the vehicle, it is still an offence to be inside while over the legal limit.
The woman will appear in court at a later date.
An alleged family dispute at Westlands Plaza has lead to a teenage girl being arrested at 2.30pm on January 20.
Sergeant Ferry said a 15-year-old juvenile was charged with public nuisance as a result.
A woman is accused of running off with unpaid alcohol from a Roma bottle shop.
She was caught on CCTV as she left at 7.30pm on January 20, but was later identified and found by police, according to sergeant Ferry.
The 35-year-old has been charged with stealing.
