Delays expected after five-car pileup on motorway

Seven passengers have been treated by paramedics after a multi-vehicle smash on the Sunshine Motorway.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the northbound lane of the motorway at Mountain Creek just after 3pm.

She said five cars were involved in a nose-to-tail collision, with fireys and police also on scene.

One person was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The other six passengers declined further treatment.
