Doctors to don lippie for charity

HAVE you ever wondered what your local doctors or publican would look like with lipstick on?

Probably not, but in Biggenden this could be a reality as Blue Care ramps up its fundraising efforts of Liptember, which supports women's mental health.

Gale Aberdein has registered a fundraising team, Blue Care North Burnett and has extracted a promise from the doctors at Biggenden Medical Centre that if the team raises $500, they will pucker up for a day.

Liptember lipsticks are on sale at Blue Care and also at the Coffee Pozzee for $5.

Donation tins have also been scattered around town.

Ms Aberdein will also be hosting the 'Liptember Luncheon' at the Grand Hotel on Sunday, September 29 at noon.

Tickets are $20.

Prepaid bookings are essential and can be taken at Biggenden Bakery.

Bookings close September 22.

The luncheon will feature guest speakers discussing women's mental health, a fashion parade by Deb's Country Outfitters, a make up demonstration and multi-draw raffle.

And don't forget to wear your brightest lipstick-publican Stuart Toms will be.

To donate, visit liptember.com.au/donate and search for 'Blue Care North Burnett'.

Ph Gale on 0409 064 809 for more info.

Funds raised during the month of September are donated to the Centre for Women's Mental Health, Lifeline, Batyr, RUOK?, The Jean Hailes Foundation and The Pretty Foundation.
