Dramatic Harlaxton police chase duo in court

TWO men charged over a dramatic chase from Harlaxton to Lockyer Valley late last year have had their matters mentioned in court.

A full brief of evidence relating to allegations against Ian Laurence Twaddle, 28, was delivered in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court during a short mention today.

Solicitor Kevin Rose said he had collected the brief that morning on charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, robbery with actual violence, possession of a knife in public and three counts of enter dwelling and commit indictable offence.

Twaddle was not required to appear in court and has not been required to enter any pleas to the charges. His bail was enlarged and the matter was adjourned to May 24.

Twaddle was arrested the same day as Keith William Murray, 39, and a third alleged offender after dramatic incidents in Harlaxton on December 9, 2015, when a police car was allegedly rammed by a stolen vehicle driven by one of the trio.

Murray's solicitor Claire Graham asked the court for an adjournment after two statements from police relating to the charges were missing from the previously filed brief.

Murray has been charged with seven offences including robbery with actual violence and two counts of enter dwelling and commit indictable offence.

He was remanded in custody and his matters are due for mention back in the same court on May 24.
