Drunk driver caught after abandoning car

AN ALLEGED drunk driver was caught out when police officers found his vehicle still warm on an embankment.

Murgon and Cherbourg police officers found the Jeep Cherokee down an embankment on Cherbourg Rd at around 11.20pm on November 2.

Police officers observed the vehicle was still warm and the head unit was on, and they then went the registered address for the vehicle and spoke with the owner.

The 46-year-old Murgon man was allegedly intoxicated and admitted to driving the vehicle to that location after consuming alcohol.

He will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on November 13, charged with driving a motor vehicle whilst over the middle alcohol limit.
