Drunk driver stung by strong home brew

A WARWICK man who returned a blood alcohol concentration of .080 told Warwick Magistrates Court the home brew he had been drinking was stronger than he thought.

Gordon John Barker, 49, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol yesterday after he was intercepted by police on Guy St on February 19.

Barker told the court he was disappointed with what happened and would "take it on the chin".

Magistrate Bevan Manthey fined Barker $700 and disqualified him from driving for one month.
