Eidsvold rural business’ special anniversary
FOR the past five years, primary producers, tradespeople and residents in Eidsvold and district have known that if they need quality rural supplies, they need only duck down the road to their local one-stop shop, Eidsvold Rural.
The business has just marked the important milestone of its fifth anniversary.
Owner Julie Mossman moved from Many Peaks in the Boyne Valley 24 years ago to marry her husband Keith, an Eidsvold local.
In 2014, she purchased the business and renamed it Eidsvold Rural because she “saw an opportunity to give local people a choice” in rural supplies for their farm, business or home.

She hasn’t looked back since making the move.
“It’s country living at its finest and we have so much support from the local people,” she said.
Julie said one of the most rewarding aspects of Eidsvold Rural has been watching the business expand and broaden into different products and services as more people have come to depend on the business and give it their custom.
An example of this is the shop’s new section for country fashion and apparel, including belts, hats, boots and jeans, which was opened in May, another instance of Julie taking a chance on her community and constantly innovating to provide the best experience possible for her customers.

Julie said another satisfying aspect of her five years in business has been the ability to employ North Burnett locals and help build her town.
She offered a special thanks to employees Kathleen and Shyanna.
“Without these people, it would be hard to run the business smoothly,” she said.
Julie is passionate about the importance of small businesses in regional towns.
“Local businesses keep the community’s money in area,” she said.

Local businesses such as Eidsvold Rural also give back to the community: they are passionate supporters of local organisations, offering sponsorship and support to the Race Club, Show Society, Abercorn State School, the Cattle Drive, Pony Club and Polocrosse among others.
Eidsvold Rural is at 59 Moreton St and is open from 8am – 4.30pm, Monday – Friday.
