Eidsvold set to entertain with bush poetry
RM WILLIAMS Australian Bush Learning Centre at Eidsvold will be a hive of activity tomorrow and Saturday night with a camp oven dinner and an outdoor concert.
Tomorrow night experience the taste of the bush with a camp oven dinner under the stars along with a performance by bush poet Russell Plunkett.
Visitors, residents and campers are welcome to join in on a great evening of bush cooking and motivational Australian poetry.
Plunkett, who is resident poet of the Bush Learning Centre, will share with guests his wide range of poetry that will inspire the listener and share proud Australian stories of life, the bush, Anzac spirit and character. This is sure to be a great night starting at 5.30pm.
Numbers are limited and bookings are essential for catering purposes. Dinner and show package for $15 a person.
On Saturday night Eidsvold is part of Jon Vea Vea's live and free performances during his regional tour Music From My Soul. Residents and visitors to the region are invited to hear Jon perform original songs and stories that have been described as "raw, passionate and emotive”. The outdoor concert will be hosted at the centre from 4pm.
Jon is a descendant of the Cobble Cobble Clan on his grandfather's side. His traditional lands stretch across the vast south east basin around the Dalby, Warra, Jimbour, Chinchilla area of the Darling Downs.
The lyrics were inspired by real experiences in Jon's life. He invites you to enter into a heart-felt conversation about the universal pain and life challenges we all face.
