Fantastic farm expo dodges a downpour
THEY mightn't come from a farming area, but Redcliffe brothers Graham and Barry Sayer know they'll always find something to take home when they head to Farm Fantastic.
"I just enjoy coming," Graham said. "It's a good day out... there are things you pick up in the way of tools and everything like that.
"You can get a good deal. We've been for the past five years."
Queensland's largest outdoor rural, home and lifestyle trade expo kicked off at the Caboolture Showgrounds yesterday.
It was the first time the event was held exclusively at the showgrounds, and also the first time in four years heavy rain hadn't affected visitor numbers.
Farm Fantastic CEO Leanne Carius said she, along with many stall owners, had held their breath as dark clouds threatened yet again to rain on the expo's parade early yesterday morning.
"But to know by the end of the day we've had this magnificent, beautiful day, it's made it really great," Ms Carius said.
Ms Carius said while the event had maintained its "core context" of being a trade expo, it had evolved over the years to also offer demonstrations and seminars.
