Fatal crash west of Biggenden

Update 2.20pm:  Biggenden Police have revealed more information regarding the fatal crash at Mt Hastings Creek overnight.

Biggenden Police Sergeant Colin Chambers said the storm did not play a contributing role in the accident.

"The road was still wet but the storm conditions weren't a factor at the time of the crash," Sergeant Chambers said.

"The vehicle was traveling north towards Biggenden and the driver has lost control on the western shoulder at Mt Hastings Creek striking trees and causing severe damage to the vehicle which was subsequently engulfed in flames."

The accident has been cleared and the roads are open to traffic in both directions.

The investigation is still ongoing.

The Forensic Crash Unit is on site investigating the cause of the fatal crash.

No further information is known at this time.
