Four things to do this week

1. Family Day Out

CARE Balonne are hosting a Family Fun Day this Saturday, hoping to get those struggling with the prolonged drought off the land and out of the house.

There will be something for everyone, with plenty on offer to keep young and old alike entertained.

There will be a petting zoo, jumping castle, face paint, fair food, and a selection of market stalls selling unique goods.

Entry is free!

2. On your marks, get set, brush

MORE than 100 paintings by local artists will be on show and available for purchase at this weekend's Brush Strokes furaiser.

The exhibition will feature a collection of works from more than 20 artists living in, or who have a close connection to the Balonne shire.

Finger food will be served and a bar will operate.

Entry is $15 Friday night, $5 on Saturday.

3. Ready, set, run

THE MORNINGS may be getting cooler, but parkrun will keep you warm.

Whether you're a novice or a pro, you choose your pace as you walk, jog or run the 5km picturesque course along the Balonne River.

4. Learn more about your town
