Police said delays were expected and advised drivers to avoid the area "for a few hours if you can".
Southbound lanes have been closed at Bicentennial Rd and police are redirecting traffic.
Cars were still bumper to bumper at 2pm from the Entertainment Centre roundabout back to between Bracken Ridge and Bald Hills.
It's believed the truck driver was being treated at the scene for shock.
