Gayndah Pool's much awaited facelift

JUST as Gayndah residents began pining for the temperatures to heat up, Mayor Rachel Chambers made a swimming announcement.

Improvement works at the Gayndah Swimming Pool will soon commence.

Council progressed the demolition of the existing amenities and kiosk through Council's 2018 - 19 Budget.

"Demolition of the existing toilet block and Kiosk will commence on Monday, 30 July and is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks," Cr Chambers said.

Cr Chambers said that during the demolition period, the playground adjacent to the pool will be closed for use to the public to ensure safety during the demolition.

Following the demolition of existing structures, a temporary kiosk and amenities will be installed, to ensure that there is no disruption when swim season begins.

Planning for new amenities and kiosk will be undertaken this year and progress in the 2019 off-season.

Upon commencement of the works, appropriate signage and barricades will be in place.
