Elderly woman injured after truck and bus collision
AN ELDERLY woman has been taken to hospital after a truck and bus collided in an accident in Geelong CBD this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the corner of Ryrie St and Latrobe Tce about 10am following reports of the crash.
The Geelong Advertiser understands there were eight passengers on board at the time.
Passenger Suzanne Bridson said glass shattered through the bus window upon the collision.
"There was a big smashing and cracking noise and I saw the truck come onto the side of the bus," she said.
"The glass came through the window.
"Everyone was in shock."
Paramedics assessed the passengers on board.
An elderly woman suffered injuries to her hand and was taken to Geelong hospital in a stable condition.
Ms Bridson, who escaped injury, said everyone remained on the bus until emergency crews declared the area as safe.
"One lady got a bit hurt but not severely - everyone else was fine."

Geelong Highway Patrol senior constable Adam Clay said the truck failed to give way to the bus, while turning east onto Ryrie St from Latrobe Tce.
"It's failed to give way to a bus that was travelling from Aberdeen St into Ryrie St," he said.
"There were a few occupants on the bus, but there were no serious injuries."
The collision has blocked Ryrie St at the intersection, as crews work to clear the crash.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, as traffic delays are expected.
