EVOLUTION Mining's MtRawdon gold mine is hosting its annual community information evening at Mount Perry this month.

Evolution's Anita Ward said the company would discuss the mine's production and how long it was expected to be viable for.

The information evening will be held at Mount Perry Town Hall on Friday, February 22, from 6.30pm to 8pm with light refreshments available.

Also, the company will conduct free bus tours of the mine on Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23, meeting at the town hall at 8am and 1pm.

Closed-in shoes, long sleeves and long pants are required. Children five years and younger are prohibited, as is the consumption of alcohol prior to the tour, with a compulsory breath test.

"The community information evening and tours are a great opportunity to interact with our team on site and learn about the operation that produced the gold for the 2018 Melbourne Cup trophy,” a Mt Rawdon Operations spokeswoman said.
