Grants open for school projects in Flynn region
UP TO $200,000 will be available for schools in Flynn under the Federal Government's Local Schools Community Fund.
Schools can apply for funding of between $1000 and $20,000 to go towards a school project, such as small-scale extensions or classroom refurbishments, new computer facilities, mental health and counselling services, playground equipment, library resources, or sports facilities.
"School leaders know what is best for their schools, and the Local Schools Community Fund allows them to pursue a project that will make the biggest difference to their students' education,” Member for Flynn Ken O'Dowd said.
Applications close on September 30.
Projects must be completed by the end of 2020.
Mr O'Dowd will establish a committee to independently assess applications from within Flynn.
Schools can lodge their application via SchoolsHUB at schools.education.gov.au.
