THE North Burnett SES Unit has continued its remarkable run of achievements by taking out the North Coast Regional SES Operational Response of the Year Award 2017 for the second time in the past three years.

The awards were announced at the Regional SES Awards held in Gympie on Saturday October 7.

North Burnett SES local controller Brian Lowe said the run of regional and state awards started in 2015 when the group were named as the Regional SES Unit of the Year, the Regional SES Operational Response of the Year Unit and the Queensland SES Unit of the Year, being awarded the Commissioner's Cup.

In 2016 Mr Lowe was named as the Regional SES Member of the Year.

Mr Lowe said to be recognised with these awards was testament to the devotion and commitment the North Burnett SES Unit has to the community.

"The community may not be aware of the many hours of training and exercises we hold to hone the skills and knowledge of our members,” he said.

"This does ensure we are at our best when answering calls for assistance.”
