High school graduates look to the future online
WITH high school graduations being held across the North Burnett next week, school leavers are looking ahead to their futures as are those entering into their senior year.
But living in rural and regional communities makes it hard to attend university open days or visit campuses, to make informed decisions.
Federal Member For Flynn Ken O'Dowd has encouraged students in the region to research and apply for more than 7000 higher education courses using a new website launched this week.
Mr O'Dowd said the Course Seeker website would allow prospective undergraduate students to compare and apply for courses that are right for them.
"This website provides students with transparent, independent and unbiased information,” Mr O'Dowd said.
"The Course Seeker website will give students in Flynn the information they need to compare and choose the course and institution that best suits their needs and goals, including student satisfaction rates and employment outcomes.
"I particularly encourage Flynn students finishing their Year 12 exams to hop on the website and look at the many options available to them.”
Mr O'Dowd believes the Course Seeker website will make a real difference for prospective students from rural and regional communities who can't visit the campuses in the cities.
