HIGHWAY HELL: Gridlock on Bruce Hwy after 3-car smash

UPDATE: ONE woman has been hospitalised following a three vehicle pile-up on the Bruce Highway this morning.

Emergency services got the call about 7.40am following a nose-to-tail crash involving three cars just near the Mooloolaba exit, northbound lane.

A QAS spokesman said the woman was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Queensland Traffic is reporting 'long traffic delays' on Steve Irwin Way.

EARLIER: THE BRUCE Highway is bumper to bumper on the Sunshine Coast after a three-vehicle pile up earlier this morning.

The crash took place in the north bound left lane near the Mooloolaba exit just past Aussie World.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers are assessing two people on scene for minor injuries.

One person has been transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for observation only.

Motorists on the scene have reported traffic backed up for more than 10km, causing Steve Irwin Way to banked up to the intersection.

The south bound lanes are clear but slow from rubber neckers.
