A HIKER is currently being airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital after a fall at Mount Walsh.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called to a popular hiking spot near Biggenden at 11.30am on Sunday April 7.

Paramedics attended the scene and found a woman in her 50s had fallen.

She had a suspected broken leg and was required to be carried from the scene.

The rescue mission was a team effort from the paramedics on board the RACQ Lifeflight helicopter and fire fighters.

The patient was transported to the hospital in a stable condition.
