How you can support North Burnett locals this Christmas

WITH only four weeks left until Santa comes, it’s time to get into the Christmas spirit and check off some of those presents.

But instead of going to the retail giants, why not support your town’s small businesses and shop locally?

There are a range of shopping nights coming up with unique giftware, homewares and handmade treasures.

Take note of the events below:

November 26

First up is the Gayndah Post Office’s Christmas Shopping Night on November 26 from 5:30pm to 8pm.

The stock available will include new toys, giftware, homewares, books, scooter and jewellery.

The Post Office is offering exclusive discounts, lay-by and free gift wrapping.

If you spend $20 or more, you go in the draw to win a $100 gift voucher.

There will be a present idea for everyone and you will be supporting the locals along the way.

November 27

On Friday at 9am, the Mount Perry QCWA Xmas Cent Sale is on in the Mount Perry Town Hall.

Entry is a gold coin donation and there will be morning tea provided.

The QCWA is hosting a raffle and prizes as well.

December 2

Canvas & Lime are hosting their Christmas Shopping Night at the Grand Hotel in Gayndah at 6pm.

Canvas & Lime are a very popular North Burnett duo of two women who handcraft their own brand of earrings, bags and accessories.

In past online releases, their products have sold out in minutes so be sure to get in quick.

December 2

Also on Wednesday next week, the Burnett Christmas Pop-up Shop will open its doors.

Showcasing a range of local, handmade products from homewares to jewellery and woodcraft, this store will be your go-to for high quality and unique gifts.

The shop is located in Lyons Street Mundubbera and will stay open until December 12.

If you’re wanting to support local creatives, this is the place to come.

December 4 & December 11

The gift store Poppy Laine is having ‘Christmas Nights’ on two dates in December.

The first one is on December 4 and will be located at the Gayndah store.

The second is on December 11 and will be located at the Biggenden store.

Poppy Laine is a popular shop in the North Burnett for its array of giftware and homewares.

They will be offering free gift wrapping with each purchase.
