Ipswich shed fraudster to be sentenced for more offences

THE man who ripped off Ipswich customers and tradies with a phoney shed building company will be sentenced next month for defrauding people in Logan and southern Brisbane.

A court last week ordered Paul Jason William DeBruin as well as co-offender Johnathan Melein and their companies DMV Ipswich and LBM Projects to pay $201,500 in fines and more than $50,000 in compensation following a Queensland Times and Queensland Building and Construction Commission investigation.

At Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, Mr DeBruin agreed to be sentenced for more fraud offences next month.

The charges relate to alleged fraud in Logan and Brisbane's southside.

A previous sentencing date had to be adjourned after confusion between the prosecution and defence teams over which charges had been dropped.

Mr DeBruin will be sentenced in Brisbane on April 18.
