It’s all happening at Teebar for the annual show
TEEBAR Sportsground is the place to be this Saturday for all the action of its campdraft, rodeo and annual show.
Queensland Miss Showgirl 2014 Sophie Hughes will be the special guest, who started her journey 12 months ago when named Teebar Miss Showgirl.
The university student said the experience was an absolute whirlwind.
“I have met so many fabulous and interesting people from all over Queensland and have loved every minute of it,” she said. “It has been a wonderful experience.”
With nominations for all the rodeo and campdraft events full, president Malcolm Beresford is looking forward to fine weather after last year’s drizzling rain.
“For the first time we ran at a loss,” he said.
“This is the first time for three years the campdraft is back on the program.
“In 2012 we had to cancel it because of the drought, while the following years the facilities were washed away during the floods.”
The ute muster will be judged at 1pm and presentations at 3 pm.
This year there’s a fantastic band, Squeaky Pete, which will provide the entertainment from 4pm. Upstairs in the hall, entries will be accepted from 1pm-4pm tomorrow and up until 8.30am on the morning of the show.
There is the usual class for flowers, cookery, fruit and vegetables, needlework and craft and photography, with classes for adults and children.
There will be stalls within the hall, along with a coffee shop and seating for those wanting to have a cuppa and a chat.
Outside there are the usual canteen and bar facilities, along with kids rides and Old MacDonald’s Farm animals.
Admission is adults $12, concession $10, high school $5, primary school $2 and family pass $30.
