Kirsty is Gayndah's Miss Showgirl

KIRSTY Walker will represent Gayndah in the regional showgirl competition after her Gayndah Miss Showgirl victory.

"This is a shock and I'm still in shock if I am being honest," Miss Walker said.

"Once things settle down a little bit I think I'll appreciate what has happened more."

Miss Walker beat out two other contestants to win the title and looks forward to taking on the role.

"It's an honour and I feel it is a great accomplishment for me because I am way out of my comfort zone," Miss Walker said.

"This isn't something I would normally do and I don't really chase the spotlight."

As Miss Showgirl 2016, Miss Walker will take on an ambassador role at the Gayndah Show before representing the town at the regional competition in Eidsvold.

"I haven't been notified of what I am doing at the show just yet but going on the past I will be giving out awards and making general appearances at the show," Miss Walker said.

"Then after that I head to Eidsvold where all the girls from the North Burnett go and we compete against each other."

Although she was not someone who enjoyed the spotlight, Miss Walker said she wouldn't let that stop her.

"It will be daunting but to be honest I like to push my boundaries and challenge myself," Miss Walker said.

"So I am looking forward to the experience and I hope I can do Gayndah proud."
