Police to search river for missing teacher for second day

POLICE are expected to spend a second day scouring the Clarence River in the search for clues to the mysterious disappearance of Grafton woman Sharon Edwards, who went missing over a week ago.

The Coutts Crossing Primary School teacher was last seen on Saturday night between 10pm and 11pm, and police hold grave fears for the safety of the 55-year old.

Three properties owned by her and her husband were forensically examined last week, and police divers have searched more than 50km of the Clarence River between Grafton and the Broadwater.

Anyone with information on Ms Edwards should phone Grafton Police on 6642 0222 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
