Lindenmayer wins Eidsvold Show open draft
CAMPDRAFT:It was the campdraft not many people thought would eventuate.
The Eidsvold Show event was cancelled two years ago due to rain, but there was no stopping the crowd at the 2017 show, who braced the perfect sunny weather.
Campdraft secretary Bec Scholl said it was an excellent line up of cattle.
"The day presented quality runs, excellent cattle and all in all it was just a great day,” Scholl said.
"The numbers were down just a little bit because we actually clashed with another campdraft this year.
"It was a very competitive field and with the campdrafting this year it was a fantastic start for the Eidsvold Show.”
The winner for the open draft went to John Lindenmayer on a 171 points, in second place was Cameron Wilson on 169 points and in third place Pete Scholl on 167 points.
The novice winner went to Shane Westman on 170 points, followed closely by Cam Wilson and John Lindenmayer on 168 points.
The maiden winner went to Stacey Rae on 89 points, followed by Trevor Hampson and James Bensley on 88 points.
For the Juvenile draft the winner went to Jason Gillies, followed by Jamie Hartwig in both second and third place.
The junior drafts winner went to Justin Knight on a score of 80 points, followed by Corby Wormington on 79 points and Mikalah Wormington on 76 points.
The Eidsvold campdraft committee would like to thank all its cattle donors, sponsors and the whole community for the event.
One of the contestants, Ronald Bligh, fell off and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
He was released the next day with no injury.
