Lions star heads to the North Burnett

AFL: Brisbane Lions player Dayne Zorko will be visiting six North Burnett schools on Thursday and Friday to encourage kids to get active and participate in AFL.

Zorko will also be introducing kids to the NAB Auskick program and promoting the AFLX style footy comp being run in Term 3 for under 12 mixed and under 15 girls at Gayndah State School.

"Dayne is a fantastic ambassador for our game, we are looking forward to giving our Wide Bay AFL community the opportunity to meet him this week,” AFL Queensland CEO Dean Warren said.

Binjour Plateau, Munduberra, Gayndah, Biggenden, St Josephs, Gayndah and Coalstoun Lakes will all receive visits from the athlete.

The best opportunity for fans to meet Zorko will be at Gayndah State School on Thursday from 3.30pm to 4.45pm when he will be having a kick and a catch with locals.

"Promoting junior participation by getting out to see kids in schools is important to us here at AFL Queensland,” Mr Warren said.

"We are pleased to be able to support our programs in Wide Bay through our dedicated full time staff member Kyle Povah based in Hervey Bay."
