LNP picks candidate for prized Wide Bay seat
A POLICEMAN has been chosen to represent the LNP in the seat vacated by former Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss.
Kilkivan and Gympie police officer Llew O'Brien won pre-selection for the seat of Wide Bay at a vote of party members this afternoon.
Mr O'Brien is currently the Vice President of the Liberal National Party in Queensland and has served as a police officer in regional Queensland for more than 15 years.
He will run for the seat of Wide Bay for the LNP at the next federal election, which is due this year.
The seat has been held by Warren Truss since 1990.
