
Mackay police find $13k, rifle and taser during vehicle stop
A vehicle stop in South Mackay has uncovered a haul of dangerous drugs, weapons and cash, with two people arrested and charged over the find.
Police were conducting patrols about 1.30pm Thursday when they intercepted a car on Amiet St.
The officers searched the vehicle, where they found ice, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a rifle, taser and more than $13,000 in cash in various containers.
A 46-year-old South Mackay man has been charged with supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, possessing restricted drugs, possessing Category B and category R weapons and other drug-related charges.
He is due to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court Friday morning.
A 37-year-old woman was issued with a notice to appear in court for possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
She is expected to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on February 16.
